There's a first for everything.

So today, I decided, with inspiration by my best friend, Ashley, to pick up blogging again. It's been an itch of mine since myspace sort of well, deceased! I've got outlets everywhere: myspace, facebook, twitter, and even my family's website, but I'm going to go ahead and do this for me. What better time than now, right? Let's start with the events of May 1, 2010. Yesterday was about time management and boy did I do it well. :) Hector and I had enjoyed a day at Six Flags Magic Mountain the prior day, and so with pleasure, Christian got to spend the night at Boss && Tia Carol's home. Quietly the day began early, typical of Saturdays in more recent times. Hector and I woke up, decided to pass on breakfast and head straight to Fresno to pick up our morningstar. Boy had we missed him! We arrived at 8:30, and as usual, he was upset to leave. lol! You see, three of the best cousins in the world live there. All boys, ready to show Christian a darn good time. They're bonded so close, they only refer to one another as brothers. Even with my little guy. A blessing always. Right away he made it clear he didn't want to leave, and after realizing how much we missed him, he eagerly told me about how their Friday had went and how much time they'd spent practicing baseball. He loves the game! After a short visit, we parted for the day and handled business as usual. Went by to pick up Hector's paycheck, walmart duties, and a bank run. It was 9:55 by the time we got back and my cupcakes (which I had stayed up and baked AFTER arriving home from the long drive back from L.A.) had yet to be frosted! The bakesale was begining in 5 minutes, and I wasn't prepared! So, Christian and I got to frosting cream cheese all over the beautifully red velvet (team color!) cupcakes and headed out the door! Made sure they were presentable, though. Once we headed back home, I cleaned house and wrapped the sweet baby clothes I had bought for Michelle's baby shower. In the meanwhile, Christian was itching to get outdoors so fortunately, he got to spent two hours with Nana, walking at Town and Country Park for "Relay for Life". I finally had a moment to myself and I went to my bed and deflated for an hour. Next I knew it was time to leave for Michelle's baby shower. Got to catch up with her, Ashley, and Ali. Facebook is great, but time with friends in person is just wonderful. I had a great time, but all too soon it was time to run home to switch off parenting duties with Hector. He was due at work in 30 mins! Without Daddy home, Christian and I bonded over 1 on 1 time. We stayed outside from 4:30-8:30 and honestly, it went by too fast. We practiced pitching and batting. That boy is dangerous with a bat! lol! He can hit a ball and you better be prepared to protect yourself! He rolled around in his Heelys and we had some bubble fun, too. We then decided to take Pikachu along for a walk. I sincerely love seeing them, together. Boy & Dog. Absolute pure love. Pikachu learned early on to tolerate baby Christian and Christian hasn't known life without Pikachu and Iris. We returned home, left Pika behind, and continued on our adventures. It was now dinner time so we headed to McDonald's where we ordered happy meals in honor of Connor and what would've been his 7th birthday. A boy who at the same age as Christian is now, passed away from CHD this past December. The least we could do was participate in his birthday celebration in spirit. I cannot imagine losing my Christian. We celebrated cheerily and sang the birthday song, for now was the time to cherish life and happiness. We continued our walk and went shopping at our nearest shopping center and even found two sweet Mother's Day gifts for Nana. We ended our evening by making wishes into the water fountain in the court yard. We were both tired, but days like that- well I wish they could go on forever.
