Well, it's sure beginning to feel like summer time. With today's 91 degree wave of heat, I fear the worst is looming ahead! And soon! I guess you're saved if you have access to or own a pool! lol
Well, Monday has come and gone once again and we're back into our weekly routine. The weekend, well it just isn't long enough, is it? I wish we had all the time in the world as we pleased when we saw necessary, but I supposed we'd never appreciate it then as much as we do now.
Started as usual with myself being woken by a wide eyed wild boy! How does he do it? Always up before the sun shines, and I'm sure that fact attributes to the cranky boy I get to pick up from school! lol I'm convinced if he got in at least another 30 mins of sleep in the morning, he'd be happier for it.
As for myself the morning went with cooking Hector a hot breakfast when I got back home, folding laundry and then...... *sigh* I took a nap with him when he went to bed. It felt wonderful. I'd been annoyed by a slight head ache and so the nap was a welcomed one. The day flew by with other duties and honestly, I did not do what I'd set out to do. I was to finish painting the other 2 unfinished walls of Christian's bedroom. I couldn't push myslef to do it. Lazy? Yes. Painting a bedroom or any room for that matter is a full time job! However, the pleasure I get from seeing the finished results I'd been seeking - well that's the cherry on my cupcake! I will do it tomorrow and I know I will, because I've recruited my brother to come and help! We should be done in an hour! Also, I received the solar system mural wallies I'd ordered in the mail today! They're large and colorful and I cannot wait to see how they settle onto the Valspar "Neptune Blue" color we've painted the walls. I'm also ordering a vinyl wall quote- a woman is going to custom make it for me and for a very reasonable price, too! It's a well known quote, but perfectly appropriate for his themed room. "Shoot for the moon. If you miss, you'll land among the stars." How's that for tying inspiration into his desire?!
After day dreaming I went and picked up Bugg from school! He was happy-go-lucky and I simply love that even though he's 6 years old, he runs up to his Momma with love when he see's me. He's been really good about me staying home more often in recent times since Daddy's schedule has changed. I look forward to returning to my full time room-mom position when he enters 2nd grade. We headed home and decided it was time for quality fun. I'd meant to set up his pool this morning (It takes just over an hour to an hour and a half to fill up that large pool), but like I said I never got around to it so he saw sprinklers in his future! I saw popsicles! We spent the next 2 hours smelling of Disney Sunscreen, playing in sprinklers, devouring cherry popsicles and playing basketball. I cannot believe what a year a difference has made in his basketball skills. He wasn't really into it last year, because he just could not get the ball into the full sized hoop over the garage. Today he attempted and succeeded! What a thrill to see the satisfaction on his face! The next thing we knew, we had lost count after 36 of how many "hoops" he had made!
We ended play time with popsicles and relaxing in lawn chairs in the shade. He played in the sprinklers a bit more and we headed inside. Cleaned up and headed out to shop for some shorts and t's. The weather is calling for it and lil man was in need.
Remember when childhood was simple and it wasn't the worst thing to drink water from a hose? I love his innocense!
I went also on the look out for a blouse or dress for my niece, Lexi, in the color scheme of pink and brown. Through Modish Girl, I was given a discount on a boutique bow if in return I provide 5 or so professional photos of Lexi modeling the bow! It's a cute bow! She's going to continue offering them at discounted prices in exchange for model photos! I'm already building my future daughters collection! This one I see on a future trip to the zoo. :)
